Consumers demand cheaper Africa data


In the past two years smartphone connections have doubled on the African continent and average prices have nearly halved.

But all these new phones require a relatively expensive, yet crucial element – data.

Throughout Africa, consumers are complaining of what they see as exorbitant prices, and are calling on mobile operators to cut prices. The BBC’s Vumani Mkhize has more.
